Francheska shared a wealth of valuable information in this inspiring, well organized workshop. I couldn't wait to apply what I learned. Jack Ashwood

I have had the privilege of taking classes with Francheskaa on three very special occasions. When I reference "occasions" I do not exaggerate when I say that Francheskaa's classes are highly informed, sensually delightful, even spiritual for me and I will certainly go back whenever I am in San Miguel. Besides being a naturally lovely person, Francheskaa knows the foundations of good artistic expression and shares her experience individually with each of her students. An abstract painting class with Francheskaa is a nice addition to any artist's curriculum vitae. John

Francheskaa, thank you again for an extraordinary exploration of art in its physical concept and in the articulation of its spiritual experience. Your class room is truly unique. Kirkwood

Thinking about Francheska's workshop… THE WORKSHOP, ITSELF: • Excellent exposure to interesting creative techniques with plentiful supplies • Atmosphere of support and encouragement • Philosophical approach introduced to creating abstract art; losing yourself in creativity • Repetition of concepts (texture, value, line and shape) so they became paramount • Critique sessions which embedded concepts in everyone's work • Well planned activities, including pre and post receptions • The attendance of the visiting artist who added dimension to what we had learned AND • An Ideal facility for both housing and studio space • Scheduling so that free time was provided to enjoy and learn about the culture • Suggestions for explorations of San Miguel, including invitations to experience galleries, outings and meals with Francheska PERHAPS • Paint for two days, then take a day off (instead of painting just one day in the beginning) • Encourage people new to San Miguel to arrive a day early…I am SO glad I did

I've taken several painting classes but learned more taking one of yours than in all the others combined. You teach the Principles of Abstract Painting and have group critiques at the end of each class. My paintings improved greatly during one six week class. Bruce Larkin

Abstract Painting is painting from your source, following what your intuition tells you to paint. As you paint, learn   to follow your intuition. There is no plan, no ideas. Abstract painting is a process. Francheskaa will demonstrate and also teach you how to critic your work.

In abstract painting there is a subject, a plan, and an idea within the painting. The two are equally important joining and supporting one another. A new way to combine subject with lines, textures, values of color and a variety of sizes of shapes. Francheskaa will demonstrate and critic the student's work.
